Have you ever had those days where you are moving in the direction of your goal when suddenly your whole world turns to chaos?
My last post I had decided that I committed myself to achieving my goal, to keep pushing myself to do what I have to, and to inspire others to see that anything is possible. I was happy, kept my nose down and stayed focused on where I was going. Then while blogging I sprained/strained my back for 3 days I could barely walk. Side note coming:
Thank you to Dr Garcia (South Miami Location) and Dr Amar (Homestead Location) with the help of the staff at Affiliated Health Care Centers I feel much better and was able to run through the terminal of Miami International Airport just 3 weeks after the incident. I’m still far from 100% but I can move without much pain! Thank you.
It was 2 weeks after my incident (and 2 swim meets later) that I got on the phone with one of my mentors. He was wondering why I hadn’t posted anything. I told him about my back, not being able to move, and just being afraid of going onto my computer as I kept thinking that I would hurt myself again… silly me. He said something that rang true to me “I believe that when we are close to what we want the Universe throws a curve ball just to see our persistence and dedication.” When he said that a part of me smiled and I KNEW that is exactly what has happened.
It has been a few weeks since I last posted and a part of me wants to use this as an excuse to stop, but a bigger part of me knows that I am close and I am determined to succeed while leading others to have the courage to take the first step.
